Healthy sphynx cats come from quality, health tested parents and raising healthy kittens takes lots of love, time and care.
Born very tiny, typically around 100g, these hairless babies need to be kept in a strictly temperature controlled environment (28-32C) for the first four weeks to prevent hypothermia.
Our kittens are weighed daily and hand-fed supplementary kitten milk to give them the best start in life.
Our kittens are $3,000, which includes:
• Full vaccinations, microchipping, vet checks, and desexing
• 6 weeks’ pet insurance
• Registered COAWA pedigree certificate, microchip certificate, and vaccination card
• A comprehensive kitten starter pack (food, litter, bedding, travel bag, harness, clothes, and toys)

No. While we have found they are better for many people with mild cat allergies, they are not hypoallergenic.
The primary allergen for cat allergies is Fel 1 d, found in saliva and dander, present in all cat breeds to varying extents. This molecule is typically distributed from saliva onto the coat during grooming.
As sphynx cats do not have fur to trap allergens, and are bathed in routine grooming, the levels of allergens can be managed more easily. Studies have shown that bathing cats in water reduces the levels of allergens by up to 79%; weekly washing is recommended for allergy sufferers (A. Sparkes, 2021 PubMed article).

Bathe your cat weekly
As mentioned above, sphynx aren’t hypoallergenic but they are routinely bathed as part of their skincare routine. This reduces allergens present on the skin.
Go with a girl cat or neutered boy
Research has found entire (not desexed) male cats produce the highest levels of the Fel 1 d allergen, followed by neutered males and females (whether spayed or entire).
Choose an allergen reducing food
Allergens in cat saliva can also be reduced by 47% by neutralising allergens in cat saliva with specific foods (see A. Sparkes’ PubMed article); Purina Pro Plan Live Clear cat biscuit is available at pet stores in Australia.Make your house allergy-friendly
Cat allergens can be present in very fine (<9 micron) dust particles, which can accumulate in houses, particularly in carpets, soft furnishing and bedding materials.
Choose hard floorings over carpet or rugs - trap fewer allergens
Have a weekly cleaning strategy to minimize allergen buildup - wipe down surfaces collecting dust and mop regularly to remove allergens
Choose furniture that can be cleaned easily and doesn’t trap dust - think vinyl over velour
Use HEPA filters on vacuum cleaners and airconditioners - these filters capture the tiny allergen particles to take them out of circulation
Choose mattress covers and pillowcases with pore sizes <4 to 6 microns to prevent allergens building up in bedding
Check out the original table of recommendations from PubMed
Finally, if all else fails, consider allergy treatment
Talk to your doctor and vet about allergy treatment options. Some options are summarized in this PubMed table.
Most people allergic to cats have multiple allergies; medications for allergy sufferers can reduce symptoms and help make life more comfortable
Immunotherapy is also available for people to reduce the allergic reactions to cats
